HAYASHI Takahiko

Artist's Statement

It has been some time since I last exhibited at Artland Gallery.

Small works have a particular appeal that comes from their scale. In the two etchings, I have chosen works that clearly and simply convey the difference between etching lines and burin lines.

I have also selected three works featuring lines drawn directly with a pen, each on a different support: Japanese washi paper, 19th-century British parchment made from sheepskin, and contemporary Japanese parchment made from deer hide.
