Dimension Zero + Exhibition — Small Encounters, Expanding Possibilities

Artland Gallery is pleased to present “Dimension Zero + Exhibition — Small Encounters, Expanding Possibilities,” opening on December 3, 2026.

This exhibition builds on our previous “Dimension Zero” exhibitions, which have focused on small works based on the traditional No. 0 size. By adding works in larger formats, the exhibition seeks to expand the possibilities of artistic expression and create new and enriching encounters with art.

Small works offer a particular appeal: within a limited space, composition, materials, color, and form are distilled to their essence. The ingenuity and sensitivity of each artist, brought into focus by the compact scale, offer viewers fresh discoveries. The inclusion of somewhat larger works also reveals new dimensions of each artist’s practice and unexpected relationships between individual works.

The “+” in “Dimension Zero +” represents our desire to add new possibilities to the original framework and broaden the connections between artworks and people, as well as between people themselves. For artists, the exhibition offers an opportunity to explore new approaches to materials, techniques, and scale. For visitors, it provides a chance to encounter a diverse range of artistic sensibilities and discover a work that resonates personally with them.

Bringing together a variety of expressions, from paintings and prints to three-dimensional works, this exhibition invites you to discover the rich worlds contained within small-scale artworks and the unexpected encounters they inspire. We look forward to welcoming you to the gallery.

Two-dimensional and three-dimensional works

● Two-dimensional works
Based on the equivalent of No. 0 size (18 × 14 cm), with works up to the equivalent of No. 3 size (27.3 × 22 cm) accepted.

● Three-dimensional works
The total of height, width, and depth must be approximately 32 cm or less for No. 0-size works, and approximately 50 cm or less for No. 3-size works.
