■ HASEGAWA Takako — Biography

Born in Ehime Prefecture; based in Kanonji, Kagawa.
Studied at the University of Michigan School of Arts and Design. Completed the Graduate School of Fine Arts at Kyoto City University of Arts. Part-time lecturer at Ehime University.
Director of the children's art studio "Atelier KUCCA." In Kagawa Prefecture, she also works as an "Artistic Director for Children®," actively developing projects that bring children and art closer together.

HASEGAWA develops her long-standing practice of creating large-scale cut-paper butterfly works in site-specific installations. She researches the characteristics and background of each locality and incorporates these elements into the design and composition of the butterflies' wings. The shadows cast by the works, creating a visual extension of their sculptural beauty, are also an important feature of her installations.
