Placing “life (inochi)” at the core of creation, the work pares back chance-born forms produced by soot to generate energy that resonates with the rhythms of nature. Amid the resonance between the unconscious and the conscious, in 2025 a new inquiry began—using paint as a material medium to depict, in even more layered ways, the generative structures of life.

＜Message＞
The shimmering layers of luminous memories ripple and intersect, creating expressions of depth and complexity. When creating two-dimensional works, I am always immersed in this subtle fluctuation, continuously undertaking small challenges as I strive to build unbounded layers of light.

Dear Mr. Fudesuka, This morning, I found a bird’s feather.
Dear Ms. Watanabe, Yesterday, I stepped on the shadow of a cloud.

March 7 (Sat) – March 29 (Sun), 2026

Approximately twelve years ago, the two artists happened to hold separate solo exhibitions on different floors of the same gallery. Since that time, they have increasingly encountered one another in various venues, gradually developing a growing interest in each other’s work. Over the years, their impressions of one another’s artistic practices led them to envision a joint exhibition. This long-held idea has finally been realized on this occasion. By engaging—if only slightly—with each other’s works, they have expanded and sharpened their respective artistic worlds. The exhibition also includes collaborative works created together. They believe this exhibition to be experimental and challenging, offering an intersection of perspectives rarely encountered in their individual solo presentations.
