Biography and Selected Exhibitions Born in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan. Lives and works in Yokohama. Graduated from the Department of Oil Painting, College of Art and Design, Musashino Art University. In 2016, she participated in the Lafore LOVEART – Summer Vacation Project and worked in residence in Italy. I don't make esquisse.
The way to keep the head "empty" and leave the colors and shapes to the hand feels somehow more true.
And when I paint on a blank canvas, I enjoy the surprise and discovery of what I had in mind.
Even if there are pears or glasses in the painting, it is always an abstract painting for me.
In the fall of 2020, after I had displayed about 10 oil paintings on the steps of the Artland Gallery, I simply painted during the day and drank wine in the evening, with no plans for the next step in my daily life.
I found that the number of paintings, wine, and cheese had increased.
But when I look at it again, it is a happy scene.
I am amazed at all the things that happen in the world, but if I can feel a gentle breeze just in my paintings, I think that is a blessing in disguise.
I am pleased to announce that this year's Artland will be a solo exhibition. This is my first solo exhibition in my hometown after living in Tokyo and Yokohama for the past nearly 40 years. My days are still unsettled in Corona, but I would be happy if you could come and visit.
