Text Fudezuka Toshihisa

■ My Art
I try to visualize invisible things, such as emotions and the daily movements of people's hearts, by choosing a form that will serve as a guide and then giving it color.

■ How I create my works
The "Muragimo-Gata" series is an object, and unlike previous prints, I changed the application of the plate and compared the "kata" to a container (shape/form) of the heart, and created each emotion and thought as a color. The works are all original, and can be used as a single piece, or combined to create a different look. Original handmade paper made from a mixture of kozo (paper mulberry) and pulp is used as a new material for expression. To make the paper, a "mold" called "Sukinoren" and "Norengeta" are used as vessels. It is interesting to note that this is another "kata," which, broadly speaking, happens to be in the category of a “plate".

■ The idea behind the works I am currently presenting
・About the works of "thorns
It seems that everyone does not care, but in fact we live among people. Not only the thorns that stick, but also those that unknowingly prick people. In other words, like a scratch, it emanates from a person's heart and reaches and influences their mind. The wounds we receive remain as memories and experiences, making us stronger and more thoughtful. I believe that when we are involved with people, we are always inflicting such scars on them, large or small.

・About the work of "Kan"
Wind has no sound and water has no color. I only try to express its presence in my own way.

・About the work "Muragimo"
"Muragimo" is a pillow word for the heart. The heart fluctuates, sometimes gently, sometimes violently. Sometimes it hurts, and sometimes it feels hurt. And the heart appears as a new intention, a form of feeling that is affected and pierces the heart. I wanted to create an icon that dared to give form to such fluctuations of the heart and confront oneself with them.

■ The intention behind this work: "Muragimo - the heart's fragments
People still know nothing about the vessel called the human heart, especially their own hearts. Facing the heart is a challenge to the unknown, and more than that, it is the last remaining adventure. The earthquake and the nuclear accident (the Great East Japan Earthquake) made me aware of the human heart in a way that I could not see in everyday life. Anxiety and hope, rancor and aversion, kindness and ego, usually unnoticed even by myself. A young child becoming an adult without knowing it by acting. And the " hoops" of my heart that I was made aware of.
I encounter the "hoops" of my heart that I did not know I had, and I also inadvertently encounter the "hoops" of my heart that I have discarded, like a distant memory. Everyday is for facing the person I am, and I live with it. This is what everyone has done for thousands of years. And everyone has avoided it.
