Junko Fukuda - Statement

Stardust is a series of works where the shapes that emerge by moving mineral particles of various properties in water are fixed onto paper. These shapes evoke various forms found in nature, such as the scenery of clouds and water, the skin of animals and fish, among others. This realization makes us aware of how the vibrations of air and water and the flows they create sculpt nature. It also leads me to ponder whether the source of our aesthetic sensibilities might lie in these very processes.

FUKUDA Junko

Born in Okayama Prefecture in 1974. Graduated from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Shimane University, and completed the Western Painting Course at Kyoto University of Art and Design.
