Takekami Moku

Mr. Takekami is widely known as an artist who concretizes "nature seen with the heart" in a unique way. His method of production, while seemingly simple, is highly original. He draws straight lines on paper with an oil pen to create shapes, which he then arranges in three dimensions on a wood panel.

Having specialized in oil painting for about 40 years, Mr. Takekami began searching for an entirely new approach to painting around 1992, driven by the thought that he "could not reach the realm of Western painting masters with the same method." As a result, he has arrived at his current unique method of production.

In addition to the "water series" exhibited this time, he has recently been focusing on the concretization of "wind," creating a series of works called the "wind series." He also actively publishes his work on social media and continues his creative activities vigorously.

Mr. Takekami's works use simple materials like paper, pen, and wood panels to intricately and movingly express the natural world and the emotional landscape of people.
