Words for the Exhibition　　　　　Guo Youmíng

These paintings are, in a manner of speaking, a conversation with my own mind. In contrast to the style of a diary, these are my Nikki, or daily traces.

Thanks to the love and recommendation of my good friend Zhou Hao, and the kindness of the gallery owner Yamashita Takashi, I am grateful to be able to show my work again to the Japanese public after 18 years!



Note from Mr. Zhou Hao

In the original print attached to HANGEI No. 84, there was "Little Poem on Flowing Clouds" by Mr. Guo Youmíng.
In the latter half of the text, there is a description of the original print production, and I found an orange index attached to it.

This original print has a black background with a series of cross-shaped faint lines and dots, which seem to disappear, scattered in blue, then white, and so on...

Biography

1961　Born in Inner Mongolia, China
1986　Graduated from the Department of Oil Painting, Central Academy of Fine Arts, China
1986　Taught in the Department of Oil Painting, Beijing Union University
1987　Came to Japan to study privately
1988　Audited courses in the Department of Printmaking, Musashino Art University, Tokyo
1990　Worked at Kyoto Silk Screen Printmaking Workshop and Tokyo OM Printmaking Workshop
1995　Established the Sun and Moon Contemporary Printmaking Workshop in Beijing
1998　Invited as a special professor to establish a printmaking course at the College of Arts, Inner Mongolia University
Present　Associate Professor, College of Arts, Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics; Deputy Director, Institute of Arts
