Born in Fujitsuka-cho, Takamatsu City in 1947. Currently, she is a member of the Japan New Craftsman Federation, an invited artist to the Kagawa Prefecture Exhibition, and a member of the Nitten (Japan Fine Arts Exhibition). SAITOU Tomoko: A Brief Biography
Began creating pottery in 1984.
Consistently selected for the Kagawa Prefecture Exhibition from 1985, winning the Governor's Prize among others five times, received the Japan New Crafts Exhibition Prize twice, the Tokyu Prize twice, and the Utsukushi-ga-hara Open-Air Museum Prize at the “Tomorrow's Japanese New Crafts Exhibition.”
Held a two-person exhibition with Hiroko Konishi (a dyeing artist) at Marugame Artland and participated in the “North-South Axis 6 Prefectures Exchange Art Exhibition” at the Okayama Prefectural Museum of Art.
Won the Yomiuri Shimbun Osaka Head Office Prize at the Japan New Crafts Kinki Exhibition, held a three-person exhibition at Marugame Artland, was selected for the Nitten (Japan Fine Arts Exhibition) 13 times, served as a juror for the Japan New Crafts Exhibition twice, and was a juror for the Kagawa Prefecture Exhibition seven times.

Talking to myself in spare moments, experimenting.
Taking a detour from traditional crafts, in recent years, I've been creating small ceramic buildings, crafting windows, and illuminating them.
These illuminated windows serve as expressions of the windows of the soul.
In my latest works, various window patterns were highlighted by a warm and gentle glow.
The path of pottery has been a source of stability for my spirit, even now, serving as one of the pillars of my soul.
And it will continue to be so in the future...
