Kamei Yoichiro
Born in 1974 in Kagawa Prefecture. Currently an Associate Professor at the University of the Ryukyus.
Resides in Okinawa Prefecture.
Education
2006 Completed the Doctoral Program at Kyoto City University of Arts, Graduate School of Fine Arts. Earned a Doctorate in Fine Arts.
1999 Completed the Master’s Program at Osaka University of Arts, Graduate School of Arts Production.
1997 Graduated from Osaka University of Arts, Faculty of Arts, Department of Crafts, specializing in Ceramics.
Awards
2010 Kyoto City New Artist Award (Fiscal Year 2009).
2010 Kagawa Prefecture Cultural and Artistic Newcomer Award (Fiscal Year 2009).
2004 Excellence Award at the 1st Taiwan International Ceramics Biennale.
2001 Grand Prix at the 39th Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition.
